1.
Which day of the week
is the course conducted?
As it would be quite a task fitting the students
into our schedule, our college therefore leaves
the selection of classes to the students where
the days will be compromised to each individual's
preference on the day of orientation.
2.
Since the diploma programs take 100
hours and 80 hours to complete, can
I shorten my course duration by
taking 8 hours sessions and complete
my course in 13 days?
Unfortunately, no. The subjects in our programs
are rather heavy and require much time to digest.
Much as we like to impart the skills and knowledge
in the shortest possible time frame, we've found,
through our experience, that students excel better
when given ample time to study and practice during
the course of their studies.
3.
What is the capacity of the class?
The maximum capacity for the practical sessions
is kept at 12 while the theory class can accommodate
20. This arrangement assured all students in getting
the sufficient attention from the tutors.
4.
Is my diploma "World Class" and
"Internationally-recognised"?
The qualifications that you will be achieving
at the end of our programs are issued by ITEC
and IFA. They are prominent therapy associations
based in UK and are internationally-recognised
around the world. It is however unrealistic to
expect attaining "World Class" standard
immediately after graduation. Though the subjects
taught are followed closely to the syllabus of ITEC and IFA, the details have been fine-tuned
in such that the skills and knowledge suits our
local community. Attaining "World Class"
standards have to come through constant practice
and years of experience in serving people of various
countries and cultures. It is therefore unrealistic
for schools and colleges to produce "World
Class" students in the short course of their
diploma programs.
5.
What is the price of the fees?
The fees for the Diploma in Anatomy Physiology
and Body massage is SGD2800.00 NETT and SGD1800.00
NETT for the Diploma in Aromatherapy. Fees exclude ITEC and IFA examination fees that are based on
prevailing exchange rates for Great British Pounds.
6.
Are there any hidden
costs?
There are no hidden costs in the
school fees as the fees cover all materials to
be utilised during your course of studies. There
are however optional
items like uniform, reference books, massage beds
and essential oils that are readily available
outside the school.
7.
What do the fees cover?
The course fee will cover all
lecture notes and all other materials that is necessary
for the lessons.
8.
How may I pay my
fees?
The fees may be paid in full or through our interest-free
installment plan where the fees may be divided
into 4 equal payments. Alternatively, for
citizens and permanent residents of Singapore,
you may apply an 18-months interest-free education
loan from NTUC for up to 90% of your course fees
where the interest of 2.95% PA will be absorbed
by the school. We accept cash, cheques and all
major credit cards for payment.

diploma?

to retail industries. A survey conducted on our
post graduates indicates that the majority who
commit themselves into this industry owns their
own businesses with more than 80% of them drawing
comfortable profits within 1 year of operation.
10.
Will I get any support from the
school after my graduation in areas
of my career?
Our school offers advice to all students who
aspire to set up their own establishment in all
aspect of the business within our best means from
setting up to operations. In addition, we also
offer job recommendations to various spas for
the better performers.
11.
What if I fail my examination?
Students who failed
their exam will be advised on the
next possible date to retake their
test. Fee for re-sitting the test
will be based by per unit of subject
only - that is, students need only
pay for the unit they will be
retaking.
12.
Why choose AromaArt?
While we do not claim to be "The Best"
college in Singapore, AromaArt is the only college
specialising in Aromatherapy with all our tutors
qualified and registered with ITEC and IFA. Students
can rest assure that they do not get fresh graduates
or trainers with no practical knowledge and experience
as their tutors. In addition, our college also
actively organises volunteer groups to nursing
homes and hospice so as to provide an opportunity
for our students to show their care to the needy
as well as put their skills to practical use.
13.
How can I verify the validity of my
tutors registration and
qualification?
All tutors that are actively teaching should
hold a valid registration certificate from the
same association that is issuing your diplomas
(eg. ITEC and IFA). For further verification,
you may log on to the organisations' official
website at:
- ITEC
-
www.itecworld.co.uk
-
IFA -
www.ifaroma.org
-
NAHA -
www.naha.org
It is important to know that you are
learning from a qualified tutor before committing
your fees and effort to an irresponsible college.
14.
Are there any further programs I
can take after the diploma?
Here in AromaArt, we have a steady flow of overseas
masters providing various workshops like Lymphatic
Drainage massage and herbal remedies with us.
Dates and schedules will be
announced either by email
or via our website.
15.
Why do I have to complete the
Diploma in Holistic Massage before
the Diploma in Aromatherapy since my
interest is in aromatherapy only?
It is absolutely vital that we have a comprehensive
understanding of the body system prior to any
treatment. Though we are not training our students
to be doctors, it is essential to at least be
able to identify our boundaries and capabilities
in areas of aromatherapy or any other therapies.
Moreover, it would be impossible to effectively
blend any essential oils for the client without
any knowledge of the body system.
16.
Will I massage or be massaged by
classmates of the opposite sex?
Most of our classes consist of students of both
genders. As an education centre, we strongly feel
that discrimination of gender, race and religion
should be discouraged while providing treatments.
We do however understand that some may feel awkward
in the initial stage and allow partnering of the
same gender, but we hope that all students will
eventually be able to overcome the fear and learn
from each other as experience is accumulated with
more bodies worked.
